The Kilimohai Farmfluencers initiative was launched after it became clear that many farmers participating in the Kilimohai campaigns lacked the skills to create quality social media content and did not fully appreciate its importance. To address this, the Kenya Organic Agriculture Network (KOAN) partnered with WOWZI, a digital influence platform, to empower farmers to effectively promote the Kilimohai Organic brand through impactful social media campaigns.

Farmers from Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Machakos, and Murang’a were selected based on their smartphone ownership, willingness to learn, and openness to social media engagement. These farmers then participated in a three-month training program starting in December 2023, where KOAN developed content aligned with Kilimohai’s values, and WOWZI provided guidance on social media influence. Each farmer was also mentored by an experienced influencer to help them become effective advocates for organic farming.
