The Kilimohai Organic Caravan Campaign was launched to strengthen the connection between farmers and consumers, fostering greater awareness and appreciation of organic farming. Inspired by the Cornershop Kilimohai Organic Launch, the campaign aimed to bring local farmers and their products closer to consumers, emphasizing the benefits of organic agriculture.
Held on November 26th in Gatanga, Murang’a County, the campaign began at the Blue Post Hotel in Thika and proceeded to the Kirwara market, a hub for the Gatanga Organic Farmers Market. Along the route, participants visited a local herbs and spices dryer, showcasing innovative drying techniques that maintain the quality and potency of organic herbs. The event culminated at Kirwara AIC Church with a lively farmers market, where a variety of organic products were displayed, celebrating sustainable agriculture and the dedication of local farmers.
The Caravan was part of a broader initiative that included the PMCA Phase 1 event and the inaugural Kenya National PGS Workshop, bringing together stakeholders to discuss organic farming practices and future strategies.
